The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred in the 4400 block of Knight Road. The collision was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 12:30 a.m.

It was reported that a Chevrolet 2500, driven by 48-year-old Jason Ellis Partin, was traveling north on Knight Road. Partin’s vehicle engaged a slight curve, crossed over into the opposite lane of travel, and then collided with a Ford F-150 that was parked in front of a residence. Tyler Hart, age 18, was standing outside of the Ford F-150 and two other men were sitting inside of the vehicle when the collision occurred. The two males, that were sitting inside of the Ford F-150, were transported to the Atrium Health Navicent for non-life threatening injuries. Hart was pronounced deceased at the scene. The next of kin has been notified.

Partin was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent for treatment of the injuries that he received during the collision. Once released, Partin was taken into custody and was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charge of Vehicular Homicide in the first degree.
