The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Eisenhower Parkway, near its intersection with Laveta Drive. The collision was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 12:38 a.m.
It was reported that a 2018 Dodge Charger that was traveling east on Eisenhower Parkway, collided with a parked 2007 Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda was identified as 22-year-old Sonny Chatman. He was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance. Chatman was later pronounced deceased, while at the hospital. The driver of the Dodge Charger was not injured.
According to the Coroner’s Office the next of kin has been notified.
This collision is under investigation. There are no charges or citations at this time.
