The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian involved collision that occurred in the 5500 block of Hawkinsville Road, just south of Houston Road. The incident occurred at around 10:25 p.m.
It was reported that a vehicle was traveling south on Hawkinsville Road, in the far right lane. The driver of the vehicle suddenly saw a male individual walking in her lane of travel and could not avoid a collision with the male.
The male pedestrian, 50-year-old , Richard Lee Vanlandingham was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to the Coroner’s Office, the next of kin has been notified. There were no other injuries reported.
