The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident with injuries that occurred at 3:49 p.m. on Wimbish Road at Blanton Boulevard. It was reported that a GMC Terrain, driven by 67-year-old Delores Austin, of Macon, was traveling east on Wimbish Road when it crossed the center line and struck a Chevy Silverado, driven by 57-year-old Thomas Marshall, of Gray, going west.
Both vehicles then left the roadway and went into the ditch. It was reported that Austin had a medical issue which caused her to lose control of her vehicle. Austin was taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased by staff. Next of kin has been notified. No one else was injured during the incident. The roadway is open.
