The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident, involving two vehicles. The accident occurred on Hartley Bridge Road at its intersection with the on ramp, leading towards Interstate 75 south. The accident took place at around 2:08p.m.
It was reported that the driver of a silver GMC Terrain (S.U.V.), 79 –year- old Felton Bowden Tyler of Byron was turning left from the west bound lanes of Hartley Bridge Road, crossing the east bound lanes, headed to the Interstate 75 south on ramp. The driver of a white Dodge Dakota Sport, 19-year-old Luster Tye Oglesby, was headed east on Hartley Bridge Road. The vehicles collided as Tyler’s vehicle began to cross over the west bound lanes, headed towards the on ramp. This accident is under investigation.
Tyler was transported to the Navicent, where he was later pronounced dead. The next of kin has been notified. Oglesby was treated with minor injuries on the scene.
