The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident, involving a single vehicle. The accident occurred in the 2200 block of Recreation Road in east Macon. It was reported that at around 9:00p.m. Friday night, two females were walking on the side of Recreation Road, towards Jeffersonville Road. A vehicle traveling in the same direction, almost struck one of the pedestrians.
The driver of the vehicle, 34 year old April Denise Curry of Macon, was reported to have lost control of her vehicle as she passed the two females. She crossed over the opposite lane of travel and then struck a tree.
Curry was pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin has been notified. No one else was injured during this accident.
This fatal accident is under investigation.
