The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Macon-Bibb Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1283 Duncan Ave just after 05:00 pm today. When they arrived the house was fully involved and it was reported that there was still one person in the residence. The Fire Department was able to keep the fire from spreading to any other houses. Firefighters found 62yr old Charlie Hollingsworth, who resides at the residence, in a front bedroom deceased. There were five other family members who were in the house when the fire started and were able to get out without any injuries. Arson Investigators with the fire department are handling the investigation at this time. The area of Duncan Ave between Coleman Ave and E. Napier Ave will be closed off due to the Investigation. Everyone is asked to avoid the area if possible until it reopened.
