On June 8th, at 2:43 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies observed a vehicle idling with loud music playing from it in the parking lot of Lucky’s Food Mart located at 807 Main Street. It was reported that after seeing a bag of marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle, deputies then made contact with 28-year-old Quinterious Javon Byrd inside of the store.

Byrd attempted to hide a handgun inside the store, but deputies were able to recover it and arrest him without incident. The gun was reported stolen. Deputies also found Xanax pills and other drug packing paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Byrd was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center and is currently being held on the charges of: Purchasing, Possessing, or Having Control of a Controlled Substance Schedule I or Narcotic in Schedule II, Manufacture or Possession of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance, or Marijuana, Near a Park or Housing Project, Possession of Substances with the Intent to Use or Manufacture Schedule I or II Controlled Substances, Bench Warrant for State Court, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of or Attempt to Commit Certain Felonies, and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. Byrd does not have a bond.
