The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an unidentified male that took place on the Ocmulgee River. It was reported that kayakers discovered the body at around 9:00a.m., Saturday morning, approximately 300 feet south of the Second Street Bridge.

Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies and members of the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department boat crew responded to the scene.  Boat crews pulled the body out of the water at around 10:30a.m.

According to Coroner Leon Jones, the body will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office and an autopsy is scheduled to be performed next week in an effort to determine the cause of death and identify the unknown male.
