The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind all motorists to treat those intersections with traffic lights out or flashing, as a 4-Way Stop. When approaching an intersection where the traffic lights are out or on flash, drivers need to stop before entering the intersection.  Not all traffic lights are back to working properly yet and power crews are currently working to restore power to traffic lights in Macon and Bibb County.

Also be aware that some roadways are still being cleared and motorists are advised to use caution and slow down. Work crews are still out clearing debris from roadways and we want to make sure they are safe.

If motorist living in the local areas are traveling the roadways, be aware that interstate traffic may be moderate to heavy at times as some evacuees from Florida and Coastal Georgia may be headed back towards their homes once it has been cleared by officials in their areas for them to return home. Local motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes of travel other than the interstate.
