A Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to 3444 McKenzie Drive on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 just before 8:30 a.m. in reference to a vehicle that had been broken into. Later in the afternoon the same deputy also received a call in reference to some males hanging around the convenience store located at 3484 Napier Avenue. The employee reported that the males, described as young black males, were hanging around the store, one appeared to be panhandling. Two of the males had shoplifted some merchandise from the store. The males were also seen pulling on door handles of vehicles by the employee.

The deputy was able to identify two of the male subjects through the video surveillance from the store.  Deputy Moss located and detained one of the male subjects, a 16 year old juvenile. The male juvenile was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division where Crimes Against Property Investigators interviewed him. It was discovered during the interview that the juvenile was involved in not only the entering auto on McKenzie Drive, but several other entering autos that occurred on streets to include Buford Place, Hines Terrace, McDonald Avenue, Ridge Avenue and Kingsbury Drive over a period of time. The juvenile was charged with entering autos, and the shoplifting that occurred at the convenience store at 3484 Napier Avenue. He was transported to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, August 17, 2017, just before 8:30 a.m. Deputy Moss located 17 year old Versauyveion Renfroe who was also involved in the shoplifting that occurred at 3484 Napier Avenue on Wednesday. Renfroe was transported to the Criminal Investigations Division and was also interviewed by investigators. During the interview it was discovered that Renfroe was also involved in some of the entering autos with the 16 year old male juvenile that was arrested on Wednesday.  Renfroe was charged with entering autos, and the shoplifting at the convenience store at 3484 Napier Avenue. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Renfroe has a bond set at $4,550.00.
