The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Shooting incident that was reported to have occurred in the 2400 block of Charlene Terrace, just after 9:30p.m. Saturday evening. It was reported that 50yr old Sheldon Beard and his son 19yr old Shel’vonta Beard, of Macon, got into an argument at their home. It was reported that during the argument it became physical and Shel’vonta was shot multiple times. Shel’vonta was taken to Navicent Health by private vehicle. Shel’vonta is listed in critical condition. No one else was injured in the incident. Sheldon had already left the scene when Deputies arrived.
Sheldon later turned himself in without incident and was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder. He is being held in the Bibb County Jail without bail.
