Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Edna Place Road near Wilmington Drive in reference to a report of a person shot just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday. When deputies arrived they found the victim, 18 year old, Tavares Roberts Jr. inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his left leg.
It was reported that a black vehicle pulled up along the side of Roberts and fired several gunshots from the vehicle, striking Roberts through the driver side door. The suspect fled the area in the vehicle after shooting Roberts. There is no information available at this time on the description of the suspect or the vehicle. Roberts was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. He is in stable condition.
