The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted commercial armed robbery that occurred Monday night at around 8:30 p.m. at the Family Dollar located at 3567 Houston Avenue. It was reported that the suspect entered the store and approached the employee at the front counter, pointing a handgun at her. The suspect demanded she open the cash register. The employee couldn’t open the cash register. After making repeated demands for the employee to open the register, he fled out of the front door of the store towards Pendleton Homes. The suspect did not get any money. The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’2” to 5’4” in height. He was wearing black clothing and a black and white cover over his face.
