On Wednesday afternoon   Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy Albert Jordan was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on August 19, 2017. It was reported that the victim, 25 year old Michael Hodges and his nephews were inside the Citgo Convenience Store at 1681 Rocky Creek Road just before 11:00 p.m. purchasing some tobacco products. Jordan confronted Hodges because he did not show his ID to the clerk for the tobacco products. Jordan became physical with Hodges grabbing him by the neck and pushing him against the glass booth. It was reported that Jordan, who was off-duty and in plain clothes, also pulled a firearm on Hodges.

The incident was investigated by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division and an arrest warrant was signed on Albert Jordan. According to the arrest warrant, Jordan choked Hodges, pulled a firearm and pointed it at Hodges. The warrant also states that at the time of the incident Jordan was off-duty and in plain clothes.  Jordan was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and has a bond of $27,700.00.

Internal Affairs Investigators also conducted an internal investigation on Albert Jordan.  He was found to be in violation of the following policies of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office; Violation of Rules, Unbecoming Conduct and Conformance to Laws, Courtesy, Use of Force and Use of Weapons . Jordan was terminated as an employee with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office by Sheriff David Davis this afternoon.
