Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Family Dollar Store located at 2123 Pio Nono Avenue just after midnight Monday night in reference to the store’s burglar alarm activated. Deputies arrived and found the front door pried open and the lock latch broken. Deputies went inside to check for any suspects in the business but found no one inside.

The manager arrived a short time later and pulled up the surveillance video from the store’s camera system. Deputies observed 3 black males run up to the front of the store and pull on the door handle forcing the locked door open. The 3 suspects entered the store. One suspect was described as wearing a black hat with a gray bill, black hoodie, khaki pants and black shoes. A second suspect was described as wearing a white t-shirt under a zipped black hoodie, khaki pants, a beanie cap on his head, and silver and blue shoes. The third suspect was wearing a black cap with a white New York Yankees logo, white t-shirt, black jacket and black pants. The suspects appeared to be trying to forcibly open the locked cigarette shelf. After unsuccessful attempts, the suspects fled the store on foot.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators were called to the store. While out investigating the burglary, investigators and deputies noticed several males across the street from the business standing outside another business. Deputies and investigators went over to the business, the Wash Pot, to see if anyone may have seen any activity at the Family Dollar. When they entered the Wash Pot, a male in the store appeared to have on the same clothing as one of the suspects that broke into the Family Dollar. The male, identified as 39 year old Antonzio Anthony, was detained. Information received at the scene also led investigators and deputies to finding a second suspect inside the Wash Pot, hiding in a room in the rear of the store. He was identified as 35 year old Hubert Dumas.

Hubert Dumas and Antonzio Anthony were transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division for questioning. After being questioned both men were charged with Burglary and Criminal Attempt to Commit Damage.  Anthony also has a hold for Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office. Dumas has a Probation Violation on an unrelated incident. Bond has not been set at this time on either arrested.

Investigators are working to identify the third suspect. Anyone with information in reference to either incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751 -7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
