The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that was reported to have occurred in the 3300 block of Pio Nono Circle, at 12:55 p.m.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found a 30-year-old female and 2-year-old infant inside the residence with gunshot wounds. It was determined that there was a dispute between the adult female victim and 19-year-old Darrell Dexter Solomon, of Macon. During the dispute, Solomon shot both victims multiple times.

The adult female victim was holding her 2-year-old infant daughter and tried to protect her when Solomon began shooting, but they were both struck multiple times. It is unclear as to the relationship between Solomon and the victims at this time. Both victims were taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center. The 30-year-old female was pronounced deceased at the Medical Center by staff. The infant is listed in critical condition at this time. No one else was injured during the incident. The next of kin has been notified.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the Public’s assistance in locating 19-year-old Darrell Dexter Solomon. Solomon fled the scene after shooting the mother and her 2-year-old daughter. If anyone comes in contact with Solomon they are asked to notify the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Solomon is considered armed and dangerous. Pictures of Solomon are attached to the release.
