Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 22-year-old Christopher Finnell Jr. of Macon, in connection with a robbery by snatching.

The incident occurred May 25, 2021 at 3:34p.m. at Macon Pawn and Gun, located at 3945 Pio Nono Avenue. Employees reported Finnell asked to look at a firearm. When the employee handed over the firearm, he fled the pawn shop with the gun. Investigators identified Finnell as the suspect seen on surveillance video from the business. Warrants were then issued for Finnell‘s arrest.

Just after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday investigators located Finnell in the 1200 Block of Glendale Avenue. After a brief foot chase Finnell was detained by deputies without incident. The firearm taken from this incident was recovered.

Investigators transported Finnell to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Finnell was originally given a $1300.00 bond for the charge of Obstruction of a law enforcement officer. Finnell appeared before the court today and the bond for Obstruction of a law enforcement officer was denied. Bond was also denied for his current charge of robbery. A warrant for an unrelated robbery was also served on Finnell and that bond was denied. Two warrants for failure to appear in court were also served.
