Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained an arrest warrant for an individual in connection with the homicide of 29-Kenneth Bernard Campbell. The individual, 20-year-old Jaqualin Kendrae Fyer, was contacted in reference to the warrant and turned himself over to Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators at around 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Investigators transported Fryer, to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. Fryer is currently being held, without bond, for the charge of Murder.

This investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests are pending further investigation.  The original media release is attached below.

Update: Aggravated Assault Investigation on Pio Nono Avenue

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating aHomicide that took place near the shopping center located in the 1400 block of Pio Nono Avenue. The incident was reported to have happened at 5:46 p.m.

According to witness statements, a fight broke out between several individuals in the parking lot of the Little Caesars, located at 1477 Pio Nono Avenue. A male individual, 29-year-old Kenneth Bernard Campbell, left the parking lot and drove down Montpelier Avenue. Campbell returned back to the area and was reported to have been shot while driving on Montpelier Avenue, near the Little Caesars and  Chevron gas station. Campbell lost control of his vehicle and drove over a water main, located next to Little Caesars, before coming to a complete stop.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived on scene and found Campbell unresponsive. Deputies got Campbell out of the vehicle and performed C.P.R., (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), until Paramedics arrived.

Campbell was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Kenneth Campbell later died at the hospital. The next of kin has been notified.

Investigators  are continuing to speak with possible witnesses in an attempt to gather information in reference to the events surrounding this incident. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
