The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested 38 yr. old Carlos Xavier Leary Sr. for the murder of Christopher Jerome Battle.
Leary was taken into custody by patrol deputies and members of the Violent Crimes Unit, without incident, Monday afternoon. Leary was transported to the Bibb Sheriff’s Office Investigations Office, where he was interviewed.
Leary was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center at around 2:28a.m., and is currently being held without bond for the charge of murder.

Fatal Shooting on Ruben Drive
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at 1189 Ruben Drive on Tuesday night.
It was reported that several shots were fired in the area of Ruben Drive, near Hightower Road. When residents walked outside, they found a male victim lying in the doorway of his residence.
Investigators and Crime Scene investigators are currently at the scene. We are still in the early stages of this investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
