Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies made an arrest on a commercial armed robbery incident that occurred this evening. Deputies responded to a call at the Citgo, located at 1904 Shurling Dr, just after 6:00 p.m.
It was reported that a white male suspect entered the store and pointed a gun at the store clerk, demanding cash. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store in a white SUV in the direction of Jones County. When deputies arrived at the store they received a description of the suspect. Moments later deputies observed a vehicle and male driver matching the description of the suspect pass by the location. Deputies gave chase and were able to catch and detain the male. The male was identified as 43 year old Ronald Edward Goucher of Telfair County. The gun used during the robbery was recovered and the cash taken was also recovered.
Goucher was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division for questioning. He was charged with armed robbery and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. No one was injured during this incident.
