The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault incident that occurred at the “Super Gas”, located at 2760 Montpelier Avenue at around 2:40a.m., Friday morning. It was reported that two men were shot by an unknown suspect.
Witnesses stated that 37 year old Airris Montez Wooten was standing outside of the store and 37 year old Donie Mathis, also from Macon, began to exit the store when the incident occurred. An unknown suspect began to shoot towards the men, from across the street.
Wooten was shot in the right foot and Mathis was shot in the left hip. Both men were transported to the Navicent Center. According to the hospital staff, both men are listed to be in stable condition.
