The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an aggravated assault that occurred in the 3400 block of Houston Avenue. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 4:12 p.m.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies were originally dispatched to Houston Avenue in reference to a vehicle collision. While en-route deputies were advised of a second call of shots fired in the area. Once on the scene Macon-Bibb dispatch advised deputies that a male victim was transported to Atrium Health Navicent , by personal vehicle, in reference to a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The male is currently listed in stable condition.
Investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, it is undetermined if the two incidents are related. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
