The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an assault incident that was reported to have occurred at the intersection of Houston Avenue and Heard Avenue at 08:56.
Deputies responded to the intersection of Houston Avenue and Heard Avenue regarding a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found 35-year-old Terrance Deshun Chapman with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. It was reported that Chapman was walking in the area when he was shot. He was taken to the Atrium Navicent Health for treatment. No one else was injured during this incident.
Chapman was pronounced deceased by Atrium Navicent Health staff at 10:39 p.m. on February 9, 2021. The next of kin have been notified.
There is no information on the suspect currently.
